About
The Life Sciences Marketing Academy was created for ambitious life sciences organisations and professionals to help them reach more people and make more impact in the market. The LSMA was created because life sciences businesses are different and generic marketing courses and agencies aren’t set up to address this.
Over 20 years of commercial experience working with small enterprises, start-ups and big multinationals in the life sciences industry has been translated into online, on-demand training courses and virtual programs. Our courses have been designed to quickly upskill teams and individuals in the best marketing practices most relevant to life sciences - all created and led by Alix Mackay MRSC.
Specialising in B2B life sciences and healthcare, Alix Mackay has trained and coached over one hundred life scientists across the UK - start-ups, spinouts, young companies and academics.
Over the last five years Alix has provided marketing strategy and advice to small businesses, academic teams and innovation centres. She has also worked in partnership with key stakeholders driving the growth of the life sciences industry including We Are Pioneer Group, ONE Life Sciences, AHSNs, the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre and SULSA (The Scottish Universities Life Sciences Alliance).
Alix started her career in the pharmaceutical industry in increasingly senior commercial leadership roles for companies such as Servier and Amgen, launching Amgen’s therapeutic monoclonal antibody in 2010, a joint venture with GSK. Through her roles in both Training and Marketing, Alix became passionate about the impact created through excellence in implementation and developing teams and built a reputation for effectively upskilling and coaching individuals, small teams and large salesforces.
A member of The Royal Society of Chemistry and Scotland’s Life Sciences Industry Leadership Group, Alix is the Chair and program curator for The Scotsman’s National Life Sciences Conference and frequently judges funding competitions for innovation centres, accelerators and national awards.
